Mariam Gviniashvili is an Oslo-based electroacoustic music composer and visual artist originally from Georgia. Her compositional focus is on investigating the role of spatiality in music. Her artistic practice also extends to audiovisual works in which she explores the relationships between 3D sound and moving image. She collaborates with performers and creates music for dance and theatre. Gviniashvili has been commissioned by Notam, Center for Art and Media | ZKM, Electric Audio Unit, Nordic Voices, Heroines of Sound Festival and ARCOS dance. Her music has been presented internationally at concerts and festivals such as the New-York Electroacoustic Music Festival, BEAST FEaST, Transitions concert series at CCRMA, ICMC, Cube Fest, Mixtur Festival, ARD Hörspieltage, Klingt Gut, MA/IN and Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, among others.
